POSITION: FACTORY & FIELD MANAGER

LOCATION: Lusikisiki

ADVERT: The position is offered to people internally and externally (the company offers this position on a 3-year performance-based contract).

THE POSITION REQUIRES:
A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Agricultural Engineering, Food Science and Technology, or related field. At least five years’ experience in a processing industry, preferably a tea factory. Knowledge of tea processing, machine operations and quality, HSE standards, planning and organizing skills. Monitoring and evaluation, good interpersonal and communication skills, leadership skills, relationship management, risk management skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and computer literacy are required.

Factory and Field Manager Summary
The Factory and Field Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the factory and field. The candidate must ensure the factory and field are operating safely and efficiently, meeting the company’s production goals. The candidate will plan and coordinate production, manage inventory, and ensure that all safety protocols are followed. Additionally, they will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase productivity and quality while minimizing costs and waste. They will also ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The successful candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare and submit annual factory and field budgets
• Prepare daily and monthly factory and field reports
• Prepare the green leaf quality reports
• Monitor factory and field budget performance for cost control
• Participate in strategic planning and budgeting and in subsequent reviews of the strategy
• Receive tea testing reports from brokers and work on the recommendations
• Coordinate with tea brokers on improving product quality
• Ensure compliance to food safety standards
• Initiate procurement requests for production factory and field
• Attend management meetings as and when required
• Ensure that production plans are aligned with the maintenance plans
